Robert joined Lakeside in July 2014 as a Partner. Previously he worked in Government as national Director of Strategy for NHS England / National Commissioning Board advising ministers on health policy.

Prior to that  he was Executive Director of Operations & Commissioning (COO), NHS Midlands & East – an area covering just over 25% of the NHS. Earlier in his career he was appointed the first Policy Director of Monitor - the national regulator of hospital trusts. His role is to provide strategic leadership to the executive team and wider organisation, designing and guiding Lakeside's growth plans and ensuring all regulatory and governance requirements are met.

He was educated at Oxford University (Law); Bristol University (Politics & Economics); Columbia Business School (Finance); and Yale School of Medicine (Public Health Policy). He was Visiting Professor of Health Management, Cass Business School, former Special Advisor to Secretary of State for Trade & Industry, and a current Fellow Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment.
