About Us
We are a group of local surgeries, owned and operated by GP Partners who are all committed to delivering quality healthcare at a local level.
Each of our practices has an outlook and team that is uniquely their own and which works hard for their own community. Our colleagues are our most valuable asset and we are proud of them and the way they strive to make a difference to patients, each and every day.
Our clinical and administrative teams work seamlessly, monitoring patient demand and feedback and they are always looking to see how we can improve, either locally by changing some of the ways we do things, or as a Partnership, implementing new systems and technology where this will make the most difference to our patients and service delivery.
As a Partnership we are lucky that many colleagues have worked in their own practice for years bringing continuity, compassion and caring and building strong rapport with our patients. We are also doing our utmost to continue to grow and develop our teams, through recruitment and career development and we are also training practices, encouraging and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Quite simply, we are a group of caring and local GP services, who have decided to join forces to share best practice, resources and ideas where it makes sense to do so.
This gives everyone the support and expertise of a centralised structure for things that can be shared, like recruitment, safeguarding, projects and finance, leaving each individual site more time and capacity to deal with what they are good at – delivering healthcare at a local level.
Our History
The Lakeside practice in Cottingham Road, Corby is our original and founding practice and has existed since the 1990s when it was started by a group of GP Partners.
They thought there was strength in numbers and, with the evolution of Primary Care over the years, thought that having linked practices offered greater benefits for patients and staff.
Over the years other practices shared in this vision and joined.
Headlands in Kettering became a Lakeside practice in July 2015, followed by Stamford and Oundle a year later, while Yaxley and St Neots came on board in January 2018. The Hereward Practice in Bourne became part of Lakeside in November of that year while those at New Queen Street and Stanground merged in July 2019.
Lakeside is one of the largest GP partnerships in the country, delivering the NHS contract to care for around 170,000 patients across Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire.
All our surgeries are Training Practices, supporting medical students, GP trainees and nurses in their professional training and development.
Our Vision, Mission and Values
Our Mission and Values are at the core of what we do and we take actions and make decisions with these in mind:
Our Vision
Is to provide quality healthcare services for our communities and to be a great place to work for all our staff.
Our Mission
is to work together in partnership with staff, patients and our health and care systems to deliver modern general practice services for all our patients.
Our Values
have been developed by our staff and reflect the culture we want to work in, as well as how we relate to our patients, stakeholders and communities.
- Caring: We treat everyone with empathy and compassion.
- Respect: We are inclusive and treat everyone with respect and dignity.
- Quality: We strive for high standards and continually seek to improve the services we provide for our patients.
- Teamwork: We recognise that we share a common purpose and can achieve more together, empowering one another to contribute effectively to the delivery of our services.
Our Priorities 2023 to 2028
- Do a great job in taking care of all our patients and keep improving the quality of care we provide.
- Be a great place to work. Invest in research and education to develop our team and attract the best individuals and keep them working with us.
- Improve our reputation and make sure our patients, staff, and communities think highly of us and trust our services.
- Improve the way we handle our systems and processes, and work to make things run smoother.
- Use our NHS funding wisely, to ensure that we stay financially strong.
We have a series of measures under the categories of Operational Excellence, Communications and Reputation, Workforce and Culture and Sustainability that we are focusing on over this five-year period to ensure that these are met.
