Lakeside Healthcare at Bourne CQC Rating

Lakeside Healthcare at Bourne delivers 'high quality care' and is again rated Good in all areas by CQC

The Care Quality Commission has recognised that Lakeside Healthcare at Bourne is delivering 'high quality care' and, for the third consecutive time, The Hereward Practice has been awarded a 'Good' rating for providing services that are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Patients were shown 'kindness and respect' and received 'effective care and treatment' while staff were 'supported and valued' and encouraged to develop their skills. Inspectors said: 'The way the practice was led and managed promoted the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.'

In its detailed findings, following a one-day inspection in June, the CQC said the dispensary was well-organised and staff were well-supported by the Group Lead Pharmacist. Initiatives, such as the practice's bespoke bereavement service and Difficult Day scheme received positive comments while patient feedback included comments such as 'great service with a supportive team' and 'amazing service – the practice is doing a great job.'

Two of the care homes served by the practice were 'very complimentary about the service provided … They described them as very approachable, very supportive and it was very much a team approach.'

Management and staff were commended as the CQC said 'they had a good team working within the GP partners which was extended to the management team and the staff who worked for them. They told us that continuity of staff over a long period had led to them being able to continue to provide high quality care.'

Inspectors noted 'All the management team spoke highly of their team and were very proud of their new platform, Doctrin which had received overwhelmingly positive results in its first three months of use.' Patients said the platform was 'fantastic' and 'quick and easy to use' and gave it the highest satisfaction ratings in Europe.

GP Partner and Non-Executive Director, Dr Tom Ashley-Norman said: 'Our team works tirelessly to provide a good service and we are all immensely delighted that, once again, our efforts have been recognised by the CQC. To have such positive comments about so many aspects of our service is truly gratifying.'

Emma Downs, Interim Chief Operational Lead said: 'We are committed to sharing expertise across our Partnership; at team, practice, support functions and organisational levels, so, on behalf of Lakeside Healthcare I'd like to congratulate Team Hereward and all those whose contribution has led to this well-deserved grading.'
