Local health and wellbeing event is a success

Social prescribers from Bourne were kept busy meeting members of the public at a health and wellbeing event, aimed at giving people more information and fun taster sessions of activities and support available locally.

Over 180 people attended the day at Bourne's Corn Exchange. The Hereward team included GP Partners Drs Carl Pears and Tom Ashley Norman plus Lucy Lynch and Jo Dunlop from the social prescribing team. The Chair of Hereward's Patient Participation Group, Roberta Roulstone was also on hand explaining about the group and encouraging people to sign up to represent the views of patients.

"It was a great turn out and we spoke to lots of people and connected with new and different organisations from Stamford Strollers football club, Over 60's exercise class , the Tuneless Choir and lots more. It shows how many organisations and avenues of help that there are in the local area for people and our chalkboards, designed by our amazing occupational therapist  Lola Dack, gave patients a taste of how social prescribing services could help them with isolation, bereavement and other non-medical issues. The Hereward Team was delighted to take part and join in with such a positive and energetic community event."
