Meet Rhiannon, the pharmacist at Oundle

Rhiannon

Rhiannon Pearson was one of the original pharmacists who joined our GP practices six years ago and since then she has worked at several sites and gained her prescribing qualification.

She originally split her time between Headlands and Stamford before joining the Four Counties Primary Care Network, recently attaining her diploma in clinical pharmacy, before returning to Oundle six months ago. She said: 'I have worked in community pharmacies and when I first started in GP practices it was a more basic role. Over the years, the scope and workflow has definitely evolved. Lakeside has been really good with training and development, especially when I wanted to study for additional qualifications.'

She has enjoyed returning to Oundle as there are many familiar staff and patients: 'In GP practices you get to see a lot more of the patients. I really enjoy helping people, my favourite aspect is speaking to them on the phone or face to face. You can make a good impact and people like to have time to discuss their medication and make sure they are not having side effects or are worried about anything. I have learned a lot in six months because now I have a chance to use my prescribing qualification and I liaise regularly with the GPs around medication issues if I need additional advice or information.'
