Over 2,500 patients take up flu vaccine at Lakeside Healthcare at Bourne, Hereward Practice

Eligible patients from Hereward Practice in Bourne have already taken up the flu vaccine ahead of what could be a difficult winter with respiratory viruses circulating widely.

Lakeside Healthcare at Bourne, Hereward Practice has announced that a record number of its patients, who are most vulnerable to the flu, have decided to protect themselves and those around them by having their flu vaccines.

Cara Garner, Patient Services Team Lead at Hereward Practice, said: "Our top priority is to protect our patients from the flu this autumn and winter. I'm delighted to see many eligible patients choosing to protect themselves and their loved ones by getting vaccinated. I encourage all eligible patients to consider having the vaccine. The flu vaccine provides you with the best defence against the flu and can reduce the severity of your symptoms if you do catch it."

Patients aged 65 and over and patients aged six months to 64 years in clinical risk groups are eligible to receive a flu vaccine, along with all children aged two or three years on 31st August 2023.
