Promoting healthcare careers

Patient Services Manager, Mary Russell and Lead Nurse, Alice Morris, spoke to students about careers in primary care.

They manned the Lakeside stand at Kettering Science Academy's career fair, where students from across the school visited the sports hall, to get more information from a diverse range of exhibitors.

Mary and Alice, from the Headlands Surgery in Kettering, answered questions and handed out fact sheets on the various careers available.

Afterwards Alice said: "Quite of few of the students were really interested in medical careers, particularly nursing so it was great to be able to share a bit more information about life as a primary care nurse and the sort of qualifications and training that the students need to get there. It was a very positive afternoon and it was great to talk about the career opportunities we have at Lakeside."
