Our History
The Lakeside Healthcare Research and Innovation Unit has been set up to provide all our patients with the opportunity to take part in clinical research studies which are relevant to them.
Lakeside Healthcare Research Department is a key element of Lakeside and has been since 2015.
Dr Amardeep Heer, GP Partner and Director of Research has led the department and its team since the beginning. Its aim is to provide all Lakeside patients with the opportunity to take part in any clinical research trails which are relevant to them.
Involvement in Research is a part of the NHS Constitution, and we want to run high quality, safe, effective and relevant studies, which may involve clinical trials involving licensed medications which are not available locally or else cutting-edge clinical trials offering new treatments not yet available through the NHS.
