Why Work With Us

Find out what Lakeside Healthcare has to offer

What We Can Offer You

Our sites have a great team ethos where people work together and help each other so that we can really make our practices great places for staff and patients alike.

We also offer:

  • Role specific training and development
  • NHS pension
  • Generous holidays (additional long service entitlement)
  • Long service recognition
  • NHS Discount (Blue Light Card)
  • Clean modern working environment
  • Free onsite parking (where applicable)

We have a full induction programme that is specifically tailored for your role and, within the first month, you will be invited to attend an Induction Day at our Central team at Exchange Court where you will meet colleagues from other sites and really learn about Lakeside and what makes us tick.

You will be given all the equipment, training and uniform you need for your role and you will have regular appraisals with your line manager to make sure that everything is working as it should.

Long Service Awards

To recognise our staff we have a Long Service Award scheme where you will receive a card on your first anniversary and gifts on your 5th anniversary and at intervals thereafter. Many of our staff have been with us for decades and it is lovely to celebrate their commitment and dedication.

Training and Development

We want our workforce to feel as equipped, valued and developed as possible and so, depending on your role, we should have a course suggestion or learning opportunity to suit you.

On joining us, and periodically afterwards, all staff are required to complete mandatory training on Bluestream. You will also receive regular appraisals, plus supervision, particularly if you are in a clinical role.

Whatever your role with us, if you aspire to complete a particular course or qualification that you think would be of benefit, then please let your line manager or the People Team know and, if appropriate, we will do our best to source or facilitate it.

To help with this we have developed our own Primary Care Skills Academy, in partnership with NHS England. This is an online platform which helps you assess your own skills, search for relevant courses, store your qualifications and professional revalidation certificates and much more.

It also allows our managers to see the skills of our individuals and teams, plus identifies any training gaps to help us fit our training to individual and team needs.

Your Views Matter

We know that in order to keep our staff happy and motivated we need to provide the best listening ear and support that we can. We have developed a Voice forum, suggested by staff and led by staff. This meets regularly, with representatives from each site to discuss what is working well, what needs tweaking, what improvements might be nice to have and how, as an organisation, we can make sure that our colleagues feel understood and listened to.

There are Voice noticeboards at every site, with details of your site representative and a suggestion box for comments or ideas to be raised. Who knows, a great idea or suggestion you have might be rolled out across all Lakeside practices.

As well as the staff forum, we also have regular ‘Ask Jess’ teams calls, so that staff can log on for an informal update from our Chief Executive Jessica Bawden and raise issues or ask questions directly. These take place every couple of months but, if there is something that you would like to raise with her in the interim, or in private, then she can be contacted at any time by email.

The Executive Team are also regular visitors to sites so, if there is anything you would like to discuss directly then please email them and they will do their best to accommodate.
